The core of this programme focuses on the business and society applications of blockchain technology along with the key communication themes surrounding it, with the expressed intent of introducing the technology but raising the conversation to an applied business and communications focus rather than a technical one.
This module will introduce the basics of blockchain technology and the reasons why it has risen to prominence now. We will then cover the key concepts for business and society, the opportunities, barriers and challenges along with the current stakeholder and vendor landscape.
The module covers how blockchain businesses should define their competition and target audiences, the 3 distinct types of blockchain businesses, the key brand stories right now and important concepts around user experience, managing hype and cynicism and advice for enterprise technology businesses.
Building on the principle that blockchain is far more than a technology, but a response to key issues in business and society, this module covers the key problems blockchain seeks to solve and the arguments for and against the ways it promises to solve them.
